Today Prince William visited New Zealand and spoke in honor of those who died in last month’s earthquake. He also offered condolences to the people of Japan, expressing that New Zealand’s community can fully appreciate the horror of what the Japanese are going through.
I also want to share my deep concern for these beautiful countries. Japan was my adopted home for four years, and while I visited New Zealand only for a few weeks, I was awed by the spectacle of its natural beauty, and by its rich culture and pride. I’ve gone back through photos I took in New Zealand in 2008, and have put them into a gallery. Please enjoy the photos below, as across the world we continue to extend our sympathies to the people affected by these natural disasters. Thank you.
Thanks very much for your comment, Corinne! I’m glad you enjoyed the NZ photo gallery. There is so much to do in NZ, and such gorgeous scenery, it’s no wonder so many films are shot there. A long flight from the U.S., but worth it!
What a lovely photo tribute! I particularly like the Glacier photo and the sense of perspective it shows. I have only been to New Zealand once on a brief business trip and have yet to be immersed in its beauty.
