A Flash Post- Kaikoura

In honor of Twitter’s FridayFotos theme (Cheers!), a flash post on Kaikoura, New Zealand on the South Island.

Kaikoura is the unsung hero of great travel itineraries.  A short drive from Christchurch on the South Island of New Zealand, pack your day with adventure tours and a visit to Kaikoura winery.

Setting out to sea on a whale watching trip in massive rolling waves with grey skies above.  The lookout sighted a sperm whale after an hour or so of searching. The weather cleared, the waves calmed, and a family of dolphins was also sighted.
After watching whales, a visit to Kaikoura winery was in order.  The winery is right on the water and has a great deck.   If for nothing else, visit New Zealand for the wines, the Sauvignon Blancs there are arguably the best in the world. Kaikoura wine in front of the vineyard.
